DJ /rupture has earned praise for his innovative and boundary-crossing three-turntable mixes that blend hip hop, breakcore, jungle, dubstep and other urban/electronic music with symphonic accents and international vocal and instrumental styles. Based in New York City, Rupture had his first big break with the Gold Teeth Thief mix in 2001 that VIBE Magazine hailed as “bumping, brash, and without borders.” Rupture has since produced other acclaimed mixes and remixes, as well as founding Soot Records and the influential Dutty Artz blog/label/collective, hosting a weekly radio program on WFMU, and performing as a member of the band Nettle.
